Cost-Share for the Mitigation of Drainage Issues

The Village of Niles offers financial assistance to residents seeking to make storm water improvements on their private property. To qualify, the proposed improvement must mitigate existing flooding conditions such as structural flooding of a house/garage due to overland flow or non-structural flooding on multiple properties. Non-structural flooding conditions must be present on more than one property to be eligible for participation.

IF YOU QUALIFY: The program offers reimbursement to the homeowner for 50% of allowable expenses up to total reimbursement of up to $4,000. (Approved projects with allowable expenses over $8,000 will receive a maximum of $4,000.). The Village will take responsibility for preparing and recording any required private sewer easement plats.
